Graphics

One of the two electives I completed for the NMI Certificate was a graphics course that is also a part of my journalism major. I was interested in taking graphics because I wanted to get some experience with the Adobe Suite.
In this course, we learned the basics of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop and then completed various tasks such as creating logos, posters, or magazine spreads. Since my focus is visual journalism, it has become super important that I know the basics of the Adobe Suite, and I have used these skills in several internships I’ve completed. Additionally, knowing best practices for graphic design in terms of color choices and spacing is super handy when working with social media or web design.
