Panel Reflections

Panel One

Panel One

The most challenging part of this page was coming up with the content. I finally settled on podcasts because its something that’s become an important part of my day. I pretty much created the buttons exactly like they are listed on the bootstrap website, and I did the same thing with the grid and the nav bar. I went back and forth between having color on the grid, but I felt that it was more distracting than anything. I ended up staggering the images and text to hopefully make the site more visually appealing.

Panel Two

Panel Two

This was the easiest panel since we just moved the content from panel one into a bootstrap template. I tried to pick a template that was relatively simple but had an interesting way to display links since I link out to the podcasts. I also wanted to use the various buttons on the top of the page to link to the other panels and also link back to my first project. I added a picture that was not on my original panel and added another podcast so that the links at the bottom of the page looked more symmetrical.

Panel Three

Panel Three

Panel three was difficult for me. I had to ask for help because I could not figure out who to edit the css on the template. It turned out that I was not being specific enough with my custom css and the original template css was overriding mine. Once was able to edit the css, I ended up editing colors, pictures, icons, and fonts. I liked the layout of the original template because I felt like the content fit well in the order it was in. I picked fonts that I liked better and sized up the small text on all the headers and in the introduction portion. I also changed the green color on panel one to a maroon color and found an image that was still of a forest as seen in panel two, but that matched the new color scheme. I also changed the icons on all of the podcast blurbs to little hearts because I thought it made the page look a bit more cohesive and I like all of the podcasts I’ve linked.
